Playing music in an ensemble is a true reflection of God's image. When you play music in a group, you are experiencing how amazing it is to be part of something bigger than yourself. The raw power of creating something bigger and more glorious as a group than something you could do on your own is exhilarating and thrilling, for both musicians and audience members.
The way I see it, God must have wanted us to experience that as a direct reflection of the nature of his own great glory. When we worship the Lord as a group, singing and playing instruments, crying out praise to Him, expressing our thankfulness and laying our lives down to Him, we are creating music of a different kind, but in the same way, we experience something MUCH bigger than ourselves. And up on the podium stands the mightiest and greatest conductor of all, who has all the music memorized and every facet of the experience under his glorious vision.
Praise be to the Lord!
